"The Message Preached" - (1 Corinthians 1:21)

  • Hebrews 4:12
"For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
  1. "The word of God is living..."
Some would say the Constitution of the United States is a living document because it can adapt to the changing times through the amendment process. The word of God is a living document because it does not need to change in order to fit the times. Instead, people of all ages must adapt themselves in order to fit it!

We confirm that it is the sharpest sword, because it cuts to the heart. The heart is where faith is conceived. Most swords of human device can cut to the blood pump, but what sword can reveal the intents of the heart?
  4. "The word of God is... a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart"

God knows our hearts, period. His word is the means whereby He makes this information known to us.
